CallUltra vs Sarvam AI
An Indian AI company that owns its own ASR, TTS and LLM, self-hosts all three, and sells both models and a full calling-agent product.
The short version
Sarvam is the stronger choice for Indic speech and for anything where data residency is scored. They own and self-host the entire stack, we do not. We are the faster choice for a team that wants to sign up, provision a number and dial today, with Zoho or HubSpot write-back working out of the box.

Where CallUltra is stronger
Self-serve, without a sales call
Sarvam publishes component pricing for speech, TTS and their LLM, but no rate for the Voice Agents platform and no number-rental price. Every evaluation therefore starts with a sales conversation. CallUltra lets you sign up, buy a number and run a campaign the same afternoon.
Prebuilt bidirectional CRM connectors
Zoho and HubSpot OAuth with both import and write-back, Google Sheets row-level sync, and three calendar providers. Sarvam documents generic HTTPS and Python tools, with no connector catalogue we could find, powerful, but it is a toolkit rather than an integration.
Where Sarvam AI is stronger
Indic speech, and it is not close
Twenty-two Indian ASR languages including Santali, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Konkani and Kashmiri, with a dedicated code-mixing output mode. Code-switching mid-sentence is the characteristic failure mode of Indian phone calls, and Sarvam has built explicitly for it. CallUltra handles language switching through prompting, which is a weaker mechanism.
Data residency and compliance posture
Sarvam self-hosts ASR, LLM and TTS, so audio need not leave India, and they offer on-premise and air-gapped deployment. CallUltra processes audio through a third-party model API outside India, and holds no security certifications. In any BFSI, PSU or government procurement where residency is scored, we lose on the first page of the security questionnaire and there is no product answer today.
Which one should you pick?
Choose Sarvam AI if…
Choose Sarvam if you are a regulated enterprise, a bank, an insurer, or anything touching a government tender, or if your calls are heavily code-mixed across less common Indian languages. This is not a close call.
Choose CallUltra if…
Choose CallUltra if you are an SMB or mid-market team that wants a number provisioned, a CSV uploaded and calls running today, with CRM write-back included and no procurement cycle.
Pricing
CallUltra starts at ₹2,999/month with 300 AI minutes included, rising to ₹14,999 for 2,100 minutes and 20-way concurrency. Overage runs from ₹5 down to ₹3.75 a minute depending on tier, and telephony is included in the rate. Minutes are counted only once the callee answers.
Sarvam publishes component rates, speech at ₹30/hr, TTS from ₹15 per 10K characters, but no per-minute price for the Voice Agents platform and no number rental price. Expect a quote rather than a checkout.
Pricing read 24 August 2026. Compare loaded cost rather than headline rate, several vendors in this category exclude telephony, language-model usage or both from the advertised per-minute figure.
Common questions
Is Sarvam AI better than CallUltra for Hindi calls?
For Indic speech recognition, very likely yes. Sarvam owns and self-hosts its own ASR across 22 Indian languages with a dedicated code-mixing mode. If your calls switch between Hindi and English mid-sentence, test both, and expect Sarvam to do well on that test.
Does CallUltra offer India data residency?
No. Audio is processed through a third-party model API outside India. If your procurement scores data residency, Sarvam is the appropriate choice and we would rather tell you now than at the security review.
Test both on the same call script
No comparison table substitutes for hearing the agent handle a real conversation in your customers’ language. Run the same script on both platforms before you decide.
